| | Take A Probe Down To The Surface
If you are in orbit around a planet or moon, you can send a special Explorer space probe to perform scientific test on its surface and return samples. The Explorer is equipped with a different probe for each planet and some moons. However, as with all expensive probe missions, there is a trade-off to be made between the payload the probe can bring back to the Explorer and the amount of fuel you can give it. Each probe will need different amounts of fuel, depending on the gravitational pull of the planet it visit. When the probe has reached the planet's surface (or is floating through the atmosphere of the outer gas giants), you can send the probe's return stage back to the Explorer. | | |
